Remote Radio Broadcasting on a Budget

Equipment to report live from the field can be expensive, even for radio (which is obviously already far less expensive than remote reporting for television). Using a cell phone (with an 1/8 inch input/output*), an iRig XLR adapter, a decent vocal microphone, and a transistor radio (for monitoring the live broadcast) can produce a decent remote rig with decent fidelity.

* iRig makes them for headphone jack-less iPhones with lightning only connections, too.
